Homemade KFC Recipe

Spices must be fresh or the batter will taste flat.

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
2 tsp salt
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp pepper
2 tsp dry mustard powder
4 tsp paprika
2 tsp garlic salt
3 tsp meat tenderizer
1 tsp ginger
½ tsp thyme
½ tsp basil
½ tsp oregano

tbsp = tablespoon
tsp = teaspoon

Mix all of the above ingredients in a bowl or plastic bag.

Chicken Ingredients:

1 pkg of cut up chicken
1 cup of milk
1 egg
1 tsp salt

Combine the egg (slightly beaten) with the milk and salt.

Dip the chicken in the egg mixture, then shake in the bag containing the dry coating mix.

Deep fry the chicken pieces (takes about 11 minutes depending on the size of the chicken pieces), or bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (170°C) degrees.

I prefer the deep frying method as it is crisper and jucier and believe it or not, less greasy!!! You can make strips which take around 8 min.

Serve with a favorite dipping sauce. Also great plain, and also great cold.

ENJOY!!!!!

Thanks Brian,

Sounds good! I'll have a go at making it and then take a photo to add to the page.

Cheers
